Sharon Jones had worked as a corrections officer at Sing-Sing and armored car guard for Wells Fargo Bank before catching the break she needed to launch her solo career at the age of 40. Like a number of old guard soul singers, Sharon Jones has enjoyed a resurgence that comes through in the palpable joy she shows performing.
